- Our Tour
Meet your private driver next to your accommodation. During your drive you will be able to admire the Sicilian coastal line, and in the blink of an eye you will be on your first stop ofthis excursion where you will meet your guide. The Sicilians think that Segesta is a very ancient city, since they believe it was founded by Aeneas fleeing from Troy, who arrived in this place. The ruins of Segesta rise among wild and isolated mountains, in a majestic and evocative environment. The old city was located on a large plateau and appears to have been protected by two city walls. Main highlight of this archeological site is the Doric temple, located just outside the urban area, in an emphatic position and extraordinarily well preserved. The second stop of the day will be Trapani, called by the ancient Greeks as “Drepanon”. This city, due to its strategic position, over the centuries has been the subject of disputes to the point that in today’s urban network it is possible to find monuments of different cultures and religions such as the Jewish quarter of Giudecca, to the medieval ruins of the Castello di Terra or the Colombaia, up to the numerous Gothic and Baroque churches. On the western side is located the Torre di Ligny, a watchtower built in 1761, now home to the Museum of Prehistory, while on the opposite side the imposing building of the Lazzaretto. After a quick lunch break, you will head to the last stop of your tour: Erice. This town is famous throughout the world for its enchanting village, breathtaking landscapes, pastries, typical ceramics and the “Ettore Maiorana” scientific research center. At the end of the last visit, your private driver will escort you back to your hotel.
