You will spend the day exploring the Borromean Islands of Lake Maggiore on a private boat tour with a skipper and your own guide. After meeting your guide in the hotel lobby, you will go to the private dock where the boat and skipper will be waiting for you. The first stop on the tour is Isola Madre, the largest in the Borromean Islands and home to one of the most impressive botanical collections in the area. Here you can visit the English-style park with your guide and admire the wonderful plant collections. There will also be time available to visit the island’s 16th-century palace, but the gardens are the real attraction here. The next stop will be the stunning Isola Bella, complete with a stunning baroque palace and grandiose gardens. Your final stop is Isola Superiore, more commonly known as Isola dei Pescatori, which means “fishermen’s island”. This is the only island that is inhabited all year round and is home to a small fishing community. Your guide will lead you through the island’s alleyways explaining the history of the settlement before giving you free time to explore on your own and have lunch.  After lunch you will meet the boat driver for the return journey to the mainland. This private tour includes private boat transfers between your hotel and each of the islands along with a private guide and entrance fees to the palace and gardens of Isola Madre and Isola Bella. Free time is provided for lunch on Pescatori Island, which will be at your own expense.
